Gentlemen (ladies and the gender-confused), Monique Gamache is officially off the market. On September 15th, Monique said “I do” to long-time boy-toy Justen Lacoursiere – in an intimate gathering that took place in Fernie, BC’s Island Lake Lodge. The beautiful couple was married on a beautiful beach overlooking Fernie’s beautiful Lizard Range. No word could describe the ceremony – well, except for maybe “beautiful”. Tears were shed, but then Justen realized that crying at weddings was a cliché so he stopped. There was food and drinking and dancing and speeches and blah blah blah. Now on to the saucy stuff. For their honeymoon, Monique and Justen did the unexpected and went to a Flaming Lips concert in Vancouver. A honeymoon with Flaming Lips? Can you see the irony? Beautiful, indeed. Congratulations Monique and Justen.

WAX would like to congratulate our very own Monique Gamache, for her recent win during Veer.com’s Lightboxing match. Her simple design for a fictitious ninja school took top honours. “The idea that losing is deadly hits home for me – with design being such a cut-throat industry, and all”, says Gamache. Okay, Gamache didn’t really say this. But if you think about it, it makes sense. No matter how good you are – be it design, advertising or hell even swordplay, you’re only as good as your last poster, ad or fight. Oh, who are we kidding, we have no idea what we’re saying. However if you love design as much as we do and you have a competitive edge beyond the ordinary, we’d love to hear from you.

Pritha has been a part of the WAX team since January 2005. Give or take a few maternity leave months. Her beautiful new baby girl, Meera, has given mom permission to come back to work – but only on a part time-basis. Meaning, we will be graced with Pritha’s business sense, creativity and impeccable problem-solving skills on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Pritha will be at home, changing Meera’s diapers.
